Is Fascism Here? Randi Rhodes, FSTV

July 21, 2020.*** In this clip, Randi Rhodes discusses Trump's decision to send in federal agents to police and enforce the "rule of law" in Portland. With accusations of unidentifiable federal agents taking peaceful protestors off the stress into unmarked vehicles without proper arresting procures spreading, Randi asks is this what America has become? Includes excerpts from Yale historian Timothy Snyder on the rise of paramilitary and armed citizen groups.

'On Tyranny: 20 Lessons from the 20th Century' by Timothy Snyder, Review.

6. Be wary of paramilitaries. When the men with guns who have always claimed to be against the system start wearing uniforms and marching around with torches and pictures of a Leader, the end is nigh. When the pro-leader paramilitary and the official police and military intermingle, the end has come.

Unfortunately, she went a little wacky towards the end of her Air America days and it sort of turned me off from her.

But she's always been very smart and very intelligent and insistent on documenting her sources and I'm glad she's still out there doing what she's doing.

I think she could have gone the way of Rachel Maddow because she's just as smart as Rachel, but I think Rachel had the even temperament that was better for national TV.
