2. A lady/girl I knew in high school that admits she has voted mostly Republican, wrote a long

FB post today saying she had been criticized for expressing her opinion on the upcoming general election.

Several of the white wingers criticized her. She wrote back that she was getting off FB until election, and then said it is disgustingly clear trump is a racist, misogynist, incompetent, and worse. She worked for the State Department and lived in several foreign countries. She says all her foreign friends laugh at trump, her and the USA for electing the “buffoon” (her word).

I was so surprised and think a lot of GOPers will defect. Some might change their mind in voting booth, but a lot have had it with trump. Hope it causes them to look down ballot too.

they haven't "repented" at all. They will STILL vote republican, just not THIS republican. There is ONE common enemy. They will still (more than likely, IMO) vote for all our OTHER enemies.

You can't state that as a fact. In the meantime, they count as another vote for Biden, or one less vote for trump. I would venture a guess that no one here at Democratic Underground knows any of these people personally, with no real insight as to what they will do in the future, therefore, not knowing if they will end up on the good side or the bad side, I would be loathe to prejudge and condemn them. I would wager that after 4 years of trump, many of these people will be asking themselves what the hell they were thinking, and after realizing they made a monumentally bad judgment call will say to themselves " Never again! Of course, you and others who think as you do are free to prejudge and condemn people without proof, especially since any proof one way or the other has not happened yet.

They are also free to stick to the republican values as long as those values do not extend to trump or his bootlickers.
