I saw the one she did with Rachel Maddow and she was obviously nervous, think that was the first one she did. But she seems have gotten more comfortable and learned to relax a little now and I think that Colbert was responsible for a lot of that, he made her laugh.

...that our late night hosts may be desensitising us at times, but this interview proves me wrong in this instance.

I'm not sure whether it was because she's already done a few interviews or that his manner and humor helped her relax - I think it was a combination of the two.

Intelligent, articulate but very much a regular person - which you don't always get when it with someone who comes from wealth. She also seems very knowledgeable, which you would expect from clinical psychologist with a PhD. When I read about her first interview on here the comments were mixed, which surprised me since the one I saw later she was very good. I think people don't realize that going on a national tv interview is not easy for most people.

She seems to have relaxed quite a bit since then. But I also think a lot of it was how she reacted to Stephen Colbert, he made her laugh.

This interview together with Rachel's are stunningly good at helping us realize and understand where we are. Mary Trump has no denial about where we are. To Rachel, she said people say "this isn't who we are. This IS who we are."
All of us not in the cult know to our marrow that we are in deep trouble. Mary T shines a clarifying light on this.
I am grateful to her. Just received her book yesterday and will start it today.
Thank you!
