2. The whole bit is an interesting take on germophobes and those that just don't care about hygene

The first part pokes fun at germophobes (Donald Trump is a germophobe), but then Carlin really turns the tables. To give the immune system practice: we swam in raw sewage and were immune to polio; if food falls on the ground, I pick it up and eat it...even in Bombay; and the real climax - you only need to wash four spots on the body - armpits, crotch, asshole, and teeth...and to save time use the same brush.

Remember, the best humor starts with the truth. The true part of his bit is that the immune system does need practice to work properly. Germ-free (gnotobiotic) animals are not as healthy as those exposed to the normal microbes at birth and beyond. The body learns to recognize self and not self and pathogens vs commensals. So he starts with that idea and takes us on a wild ride.

4. I find it hilariously ironic that Trump is a germophobe.

But he has absolutely no problems walking into a huge crowd with no mask on during the worst pandemic in a century. And he also doesn't care that members of his staff have contracted the virus.

In contrast I have a friend IRL who is a germophobe and since the pandemic started he's been almost living like the Bubble Boy from Seinfeld. Trump is definitely not a germophobe if he's holding huge rallies like he has been.

Likely just another of his lies. After all, he did have sex with a porn star without wearing a condom.
