(2,184 posts)Basically, in his logic, being made to wear a mask equates to black people having been made to sit in the back of the bus. Yep, that's why it violates his religious freeedoms to have to wear mask, because Jesus says since he percieves his risks w/ respect to Covid to be low, he doesn't have to worry about anyone else. I may be an athetist, so what do I know, but this doesn't sound like a meek will inherit the Earth kind of philosophy to me, just an asshole using his religiosity as an exuse for his selfishness.

(296 posts)Here is a list of States with mandatory facemasks mandates. If mandated you must wear a mask. In states with no mandate, private businesses are free to DEMAND masks. Finally it is up to the courts to decide whether or not religious freedom is a legal defense. Until then, you still wear a mask!

In Florida, a judge recently ruled it is not a Constitutional right to refuse wearing a mask. Courts in several states have ruled in favor of Governors who limited the size of indoor activities including the size of religious services. It would be difficult to use religion as a legal excuse for not wearing a mask. It doesn't impede your ability to go to church or practice your religion while in church.

Would he be happy?

(5,185 posts)I don't care if he loses friends, jobs or whatever else over this. He is a selfish human that has made a choice to benefit his own desires, so if that does not pan out the way he assumes it will, being written next to Rosa Parks in the history books, to bad for him.
Can't fix stupid!
