1. Really enjoyed this documentary. Great high end strategy/character

revelations.

[Also, I enjoy the strategic WW2 errors by the facists, in not securing the Gilbraltar gateway to the Mediterannean].

4. Which gave us room to maneuver in N. Africa, unchallenged

as well as Sicily. Green Allied troops gained fighting experience.

that some of the major players made during the war. Hitler certainly screwed up invading Russia and some Allied generals made their own mistakes—major names in history.

5. Yes there were mistakes - N Africa, Dieppe, Rome

even Ike was a bit slow in the beginning, as well as major British generals.

The Germans, for all their might, military expertise, engineering, were very uninventive. They seemed unable to curtail saboteurs, SOE. And they never realized all of their spies in Britain were turned and feeding them minor, or irrelevant, or very false information. Destiny trumped thought.

Did not know how much of a paranoid schmuck Stalin was. Not believing Hitler would attack without warning was a colossal blunder.
