that some of the major players made during the war. Hitler certainly screwed up invading Russia and some Allied generals made their own mistakesmajor names in history.

The Germans, for all their might, military expertise, engineering, were very uninventive. They seemed unable to curtail saboteurs, SOE. And they never realized all of their spies in Britain were turned and feeding them minor, or irrelevant, or very false information. Destiny trumped thought.
