(36,057 posts)He couldn't say, but they are probably a matter of public record. They can be brought before the committee, I believe.
The guy after AOC asked him explicitly whether he talked to the Trump campaign. He said he talked to "friends" who "happen" to be in the campaign, but not campaign leaders.

(6,629 posts)to allow him to demonstrate that
1) he's unqualified to run our Postal Services, and
2) he has financial (and ethical) conflicts
I agree with 1. As for 2., I heard him say he has no financial entanglements with whatever company she named.
Ethical conflicts go with the whole planning -- before his time, he says -- to remove the sorting machines, which then goes back to the Postal Board's prior decisions. Maybe they made the plan, and since they're Trump appointees, there is real intent by someones behind the slowdown.
Perhaps the whole board should be brought before Oversight. They are not in the spotlight yet, but I think they should be. Grilled long enough, they could reveal communications with/from Trump re the plans.

(17,387 posts)She set him up by asking him questions that had lulled him into saying I do not know. She started small, then started asking about the over haul with DeJoy claiming that he did not have a clue.
If she went straight to the big question, DeJoy would have started off by BS an answer.

(36,057 posts)Which is why she needs to be in an even greater position of power.
We're still not getting far with side-stepping scofflaws. But we need to move on capitalists and corporations who think they should have equal standing with humans under the Constitution.
They need to be put back in their fictional personhood place, and we have GOT to win to get them back there. Private sector capture of this government is clear -- Sheldon Whitehouse's book lays out its recent gains.
Because if the USPS's institutional legal standing ends with corporate capture, I don't even want to think about what comes after.
