Regardless of party. LBJ turned to Eisenhower for advice. Jimmy Carter only had Nixon and Ford, he got help dealing with Congress from his former opponent and they became such friends that Ford called on Carter to deliver his eulogy. We know that Bill Clinton has had a good relationship with both Bushes and Michelle Obama seems to be good friends with W. Trump is an anomaly - he bashes any of his predecessors from either party, he trusts his "gut" rather than the men with experience.

He trusts his gut because he can never stop weaseling scheming and conniving and manipulating. He doesn’t have a brain in his head of any substance at all but he’s an instinctual ConMan. That is his only quality that he’s good at. That doesn’t mean that’s a good thing he just happens to be naturally good at it. Other than that he has no other redeeming qualities. None.
