Maybe sexually active boys are more honest about their feelings and less well supervised?

Maybe sexually active boys are not as well integrated into the social activities of a group that is doing positive things like playing in an orchestra or band or doing sports or boy scouts?

Another case in which correlation may not mean causation.

Sexual activity may or may not increase depression. Romney's use of the study results may not reflect the conclusions of the study. Hard to say.

But in my experience, an awful lot of teenagers are depressed and for good reason. High school was pretty horrible as I recall.
