6. I love our new generation...

They're all smart as hell, have spines made of steel, and see no reason to play the "...you've got a point" game with Republicans. Think about it...Jon, Beto, AOC, Eric, etc. were all born AFTER the ascent in Republican mythology of the great god Reagan. They observed the natural progression from him to the festering boil who will occupy the White House for 19 more days. They've never seen them do anything but lie and fuck the middle class and poor. They grew up watching Democrats trying to be reasonable with unreasonable people, trying to figure out why dems didn't stand up and call bullshit, and have seen enough. They're done with the press's "both sides do it." They know better than to believe anything Republicans say, which whether we like it or not, was a BIG blind spot with Harry Reid. He came from a more reasonable time...he believed Mitch McConnell. These kids (I'm 72...they are to me) have a damn fire in their bellies and are going to do great things.

I really think Joe will serve one term, and then pass the torch. There was a reason his other presidential runs didn't work out...this is his time. We need his experience, humanity, as well as all his other attributes to get us out of this dumpster fire. But this is the deepest, most exciting "bench" I've seen in a long time. I'm already looking forward to 2024...I'm figuring Kamala/Mayor Pete.
