(27,137 posts)...the modern-day faux-gestapo types, as well as all the other jackbooted police-state automatons, are notoriously bad when it comes to the details? They just start swinging and then make it all up afterwards. Which is why so many of these cases are getting thrown heartily out of the courtrooms.
- Yeah, I think endless lawsuits that ultimately force police layoffs is the way to go......

(27,137 posts)For me clarity came on the night of April 4, 1968.

(27,137 posts)...because I was there that summer, visiting family that still lived there then. And the Glenville Riots in Cleveland in the summer of 1968, but I had already left.
And in other cities on the night of April 4th 1968, I remember that there were riots in Baltimore, Washington D.C. and Chicago. And I also remember seeing the cops kick the shit out of a guy on campus at TSU on the night of April 4th, 1968. And the jackboots driving through the black neighborhoods of Nashville like they were insane.
The next morning the Tennessee National Guard and the local gestapo had the black neighborhoods cordoned-off with half-tracks and tanks.
- Yeah, I'll never forget what they did. Never.
