... his contract might be up. He's been wandering off the Reservation frequently. Maybe he's always been, but it's more high profile and he's smart enough to know What's Going On...

and I tend to agree with him. This speech was not boilerplate. It wasn't about policies, and doing for the people what they want done, nor about the budget. It spoke to values, the problems we have. It made promises to America, and brought all citizens along. Yet it was short. It wasn't partisan, and didn't specifically address our divides, yet it told us we will prevail, without ever mentioning the rule of law. I'm convinced the USA will do what it has to do to survive, however these predicaments fall out. Biden will hire competence and charge them with hard work.

I've been assured many times on here that wisdom of elders is overblown, that many people are wise at 40 years old. There's no wisdom like a man with decades of experience at the national level. It's not a hard and fast rule, but I think older Senators and former VPs make the best presidents in the modern era. Governors manage, and bring a coterie from their state capitols. Too often, scandals result. I doubt we'll have that problem here.

Wallace said, but I see you posted it first, and this clip is a few seconds longer than the one I found in a tweet.
