Katy Perry Performs "Firework" As Inauguration Day Comes to an End

1. I genuinely think this has to be one of the best inaugural performances of all time.

Just texted my sister (a fellow Democrat who lives in Manhattan):

I really wonder how the Republicans can still choose to stick to their party art this point. Isn't it plain as day that the Democrats are the party of: Intelligence; Education; Talent; and Humanity?

The contrast could not be more vivid. Who wants to be in the party of: Greed; Ignorance; Narrow-Mindedness; and Dishonesty?

WTF.

Also, I have to add: The look of pure joy and excitement in Katy Perry's eyes at 1:11 is wonderful. Clearly she'd done a lot of practicing of the timing of the gestures with the song and the expected fireworks -- but seeing the fireworks in actuality seems to have bowled over even her. Her face and eyes are messaging, "OMG, this is effing FANTASTIC!"

LOL. Rock on, Katy. It absolutely was. You knocked it out of the park.
