(26,268 posts)And, from watching him, he kind of ACTS like a cardboard cut out. So, perhaps that accounts for some of the confusion.

(53,661 posts)Nothing to lose one's mind over. Someone just posted something on another forum today that fit this mentality to a T.
Announcing 'I'm offended' is basically telling the world you can't control you own emotions, so everyone else should do it for you.
Apparently, they have so much vitriol for a single human being, who is not actually there, that they couldn't control themselves.
And if anyone wants to say that when Democrats act up, and the two parties are the same, I've got video proof against that.

(13,108 posts)You have to love those low information family value voters.
I guess they are all loyal Fox News viewers.
People sticking up for the rich and voting against their best interest.
How sad.

(27,461 posts)I wouldn't be surprised if MItt's people made him lose the sign, I don't think they would want to see that number at the rally.

(28,799 posts)the obama phone? is this some meme on fox or something?
that was disheartening. seemed like a rather large crowd.

(8,053 posts)it's not organic like Obama's crowds are.
PA Democrat
(13,225 posts)of a poor black woman saying she is voting for Obama because he "gave her a free phone." There is a program that pays for phones for low income people that was started back in 1984 under the Reagan administration. So it's just another attempt to paint Obama as some kind of communist for continuing a program started by Saint Ronnie.

(67 posts)why are they all mean looking; fat; sickly; vapid; hickish?
Really misinformed, arrogant and ignorant people. Some of the looks, if looks could kill that poster would be dead. What's an obama phone? i'd google but my firefox google is not working well. Why do white americans hate, yes hate blacks so? What are they so fearful of? Well after Obama I hope we can get a Hispanic, then a woman, then an Asian, then a native american, then a gay as president and not necessarily in this order. Elizabeth Warren would be two birds with one stone. Then we'll get back to feelings of white entitlement and barely subdued racism... some of the comments, very, very insulting. I won't boo, I'll vote. I wish the whole world could see this long white line of hate.

CO is not ANYTHING like Utah. We have a Dem Governor, and both our Senators are Dem. Yes we have pockets of conservatism, but Denver and Boulder are both very blue.

(26 posts)It actually made me sad that people are so disrespectful to our president. I am not a Romney fan but I hope I would behave better in a similar situation with a cardboard Romney. I did notice there did not appear to be a lot of diversity in that crowd....not too surprising, I guess.

(1,648 posts)I couldn't help but smile a little grin when I thought about how their smug, ignorant faces will look in just 5 weeks when the air is totally let out of the RR clown act and The President reassures them that he will serve All Americans fully and that our Nation will re-cover. Yeah, that's the picture I see instead of these low info narrow minded poor excuses for Americans I saw parading by jabbering nonsense.

(16,916 posts)but just feel sad and embarrassed. Also, a bit uneasy. The most polite way to express this is that I want these people to go away, permanently--and I'm not comfortable with that emotion.

(492 posts)I think it would be interesting to see a video of people exiting an Obama rally and being confronted with a cardboard Romney. (I couldn't resist.)

(1,484 posts)I think what you have tuned in to is the reality of the human condition. As much as we are all different, there is a lot more to us that makes us all the same. Most bulls respond in the same way to a red flag, just as most people (irregardless of political party affiliation) will respond in the same way to being taunted. Of course there are some of us who are saints (euphemism for higher level of consciousness), just as there are some of us who have no means of self control, for any number of reasons that have been dictated by our past experiences in life. It didn't used to be, but in modern times there are a lot of people in our country who have been "bent out of shape by societies' pliers" (Bob Dylan 1965).
For me, the most frightening part of the video was when one of the rally attendees made reference to using the cardboard cutout (and the person standing behind it) as target practice. That may have been an inference to promote others into taking violent action, or it might have also have been an inference to the danger of his' losing control of his own intentions. Nobody really knows if he was packing or not, just as no one really knows how many of the other people in that line were packing. But being that it was a right wing function that was being held in a state that prides itself in its' history of being "rugged" (I'm trying very hard to say this nicely), I would guess that the number of people in that line who were packing might have been pretty high; as in can you spell C o l u m b i n e?
So then the only reason to tempt fate in that instance (as in standing behind that cut out) would have been either if you had a death wish, or else you were just not very smart.
I'm glad that in this case, it turned out very lucky. We need all of the votes on our side that we can get.
Upon edit for syntax.

(1,599 posts)As thousands of Romney supporters lined up outside his Monday night rally site at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, liberal groups and the Obama campaign did whatever they could to get their own message heard.
But even with a small airplane circling overheard trailing a banner about Romneys 47 percent comments, the voices ProgressNow Action wanted to hear were those of Romney supporters as they passed by the groups cardboard cut-out of President Obama and rolling video camera on their way inside.
On Tuesday morning, the group posted the four-minute video on YouTube, in which dozens of Republicans pass by cardboard Obama and, in a few cases, cant help but hurl less-than-politically correct comments its way. You can watch the video below.
Go back to Kenya! one person says.
Strangle him! says another.

I laugh when GOPers bring this up. Apparently they haven't seen this:
