Glad you're sticking up for that "woman" who allowed bleach to be part of the medical conversation. Yep, she's a hag.

(14,154 posts)"Hes been so attentive to the scientific literature and the details and the data, Birx said. I think his ability to analyze and integrate data that comes out of his long history in business has really been a real benefit during these discussions about medical issues.
Despite what Birx would have you believe, Trump has been pushing misleading and contradictory medical advice. On February 26, for instance, he claimed coronavirus cases would be down to close to zero. His claim was hard to swallow then, and barely a month later the US has more than 85,000 cases.
Its true Trump is sensitive to certain kinds of data but those kinds generally include his own poll numbers and the stock market, not indicators of public health. Relatedly, Trump is currently pushing to reopen businesses currently shuttered by Easter a timetable much faster than what public health experts recommend. So not only is Trump not attentive to the scientific literature, but, as Ive detailed, a number of comments hes made this week have illustrated that he doesnt get the basics about how public health crises work.

The reason I am coming to her defense on this is because I believe she thought she could be more helpful if she stayed on rather than speak out and most likely be forced to resign
The problem I have defending her is that during her assignment on the team, she enthusiastically complimented trump on his understanding and handling of the crisis, something Fauci never did
Dr. Fauci said he was blocked from coming on Rachel Maddow's show, which is another example of just how awful the trump administration was

(10,500 posts)It gives a more balanced perspective of Dr. Birx and the situation she was dealing with. I also provided my own thoughts on her circumstances in my post a little below (#21).
This article is extremely long, but pretty amazing. And, of course, you could just search for Dr. Birx's name. You could also skip to chapter 16, which is the one that is largely about her.

Come on. Yeah, he was "very good at analyzing data" for about 30 seconds and just as long as it contained lots of pictures and very little text.

(10,500 posts)It is extremely long, but extremely good.
You could also just search for Dr. Birx's name in the article and read those parts.
Or just skip down to Chapter 16, entitled "Thelma and Louise." That section is heavily about her.
I want to be fair with her since I appreciate how difficult her circumstances were. Let's not forget that Democratic governors were also forced to sing his praises at times, in order to get fair treatment for their states. There was a psychopathic child in the White House, and we all had to figure out how to best deal with that, for ourselves and for others.
