(42,862 posts)... easy enough to ignore by simply not socializing and not facebooking with them. But it would be heartbreaking for me if a close family member were into the Q conspiracies.
And if it were my husband, I'd divorce him.

(1,685 posts)A combination of addictive personalities and a mindset that events which have impacted them must be controlled by malevolent forces. It also gives them a sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves which is simply a malignant form of tribalism in the case of conspiracies.

(2,626 posts)It's astonishing. I'd always thought of my friend's sister and her husband as level headed, responsible and logical people. They were religious but not zealots.
It's mind boggling but also unbelievably sad that families are being torn apart by this. They do become different people.

(45,453 posts)it's bonkers but many of the Q folks are still in deep thinking a shadowy cabal is setting wildfires to promote a myth of climate change. It's illogical and pointless trying to reason with people who do "research" on youtube and googling blogs/forums.

I've lost one of my very best friends to QAnon. And I don't think her daughter is speaking to her either.
