The video is no more graphic than the image that's shown in the thumbnail above, so feel free to watch (or at least listen to the audio). It's simply a discussion (and the hosts refer to the photo eventually).

62-year-old Nick Christie was restrained, gagged and pepper sprayed up to 10 times in the Lee County Jail in Florida - his death is raising questions about torture and abuse. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian discuss on The Young Turks.

Love it or hate it it's the truth.

In fact articles with video embeds typically have much higher view counts than text alone.

Unfortunately often times the most substantive stories we cover get the lowest view totals, in-depth interviews on critical issues especially.

Americans needs to stop electing war criminals. Bush & Obama should be tried at the Hague as war criminals.

Everyone asked why the German citizens didn't stop the concentration camps and Hitler. But look at Americans now, they do nothing. Their concern this election like all prior elections is the economy and how much $$$$ can go into my pocket. Save the planet, doesn't even register. Feed starving children... nope!

these same people remain quiet when someone is a victim of out of control rioting police. There was a recent incident in Seattle, I believe, where a Native American wood carver was shot and killed by an on duty police officer. This incident was, in part, what caused the US Justice Department to investigate "use of excessive force." The officer resigned and the city attorney announced that criminal charges would not be filed.

I think Cenk and Anna are right when they say this kind of rogue behavior on the part of law enforcement began with the torture of detainees in Iraq and Guantanamo. It is slowly becoming acceptable behavior for police to wantonly and intentionally kill our citizens.

has now come back to haunt us at home. One thing that is often never discussed in these police brutality threads is that a HUGE percentage of American police officers are ex-military. It's no acident that our police not only look more and more like an occupying military force, but behave like one too.
