(21,596 posts)I am so honored to have been able to vote for him - twice!
Over the past two weeks, I made multiple calls to my state representative, state senator, and the governor, expressing my opposition to the to the voter suppression bills in the Georgia State Assembly house and senate. I told them that we are not going back.
Senator Reverend Warnock spoke about how the bill (now law) would have been worse if we had not been speaking up and voicing our concerns and opposition to the efforts of the GA GOP to take away our constitutional right to vote.
We Georgia Democrats are ready to fight for democracy. We are fighting now.

He appears to be the leader for this time, exactly who is needed, much like Joe Biden who has the experience to deal successfully with this terrible crisis. I'm impressed with Jon Ossoff, too, I'm incredibly grateful that they both were elected and I'm in New York, but both senators were desperately needed right now.
And kudos to you for making a difference. It's been tempting to give into fear right now, but you stepped up and didn't give up...

We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to Stacey Abrams, who led Georgia Democrats to victory in November 2020 and January 2021.
I wrote postcards to voters, worked the phone banks for Reverend Warnock and went to the doors for Reverend Warnock, Jon Ossoff, and also my state and local candidates here in Northeast Georgia.
I was but a foot soldier in the vast Democratic army commanded by Stacey Abrams, who was a righteous general fighting for democracy and justice.
Georgia appreciates all the love and support from our fellow Democrats in the great State of New York!

(206,016 posts)Without you - and the movement that awesome Stacey Abrams started - I can't imagine where we'd be right now. Thanks to Georgia, we now have hope, and that's a precious commodity which has been way too long in coming. There's finally some light at the end of that long dark tunnel thanks to those who stepped up when it mattered.
