Chauvin thought he was above the law.
He was wrong.

2. The people who got Chauvin convicted were his superiors

who were courageous enough to speak out about the egregious overuse of force in the case. I doubt if that would have happened without citizen videos of the murder.

I do agree that the sentence shouldn't be either lenient or harsh, coddling and revenge are both wrong. Chauvin will never get any sort of law enforcement job again, not even night watchman or mall cop, and will be prevented from owning a gun. These are good things.

For the record, MN has long been a non DP state.
