'We are dying inside': Indian doctor on losing patients to Covid (CNN)

CNN's Sam Kiley reports from a hospital in New Delhi where eight people, including one doctor, died after the facility ran out of medical oxygen. India has recorded over 18 million cases since the pandemic began — and its health care infrastructure has crumbled under pressure, with hospitals running out of oxygen and medicines.

although this is how it was done in the US 60 years ago and is still being done in some rural areas.

Filled tanks are now getting police escorts, as much to prevent hijacking and diversion to more lucrative areas as expediting delivery through traffic.

Urban, up to date hospitals in the US use oxygen piped through the walls from a tank of liquefied oxygen on campus, refilled by tanker truck. I have a feeling that once Modi is ousted, there will be a push to retrofit urban hospitals in India so that the supply chain is a bit less vulnerable in the future.
