Republicans Who Voted Against Popular Biden Covid Relief Bill Tout Its Benefits - Rachel Maddow

Rachel Maddow points out that Republicans are associating themselves with the popular features of the Covid relief plan they voted against, and notes that with Mitch McConnell essentially admitting he intends to follow the same obstructionist playbook he used against President Obama, Democrats should feel free to continue to advance popular legislation without bothering to wrangle Republicans along the way. So they can do a whole lot of damage before they face another election and even those who are paying attention have short memories.

The deplorable Republican who has recently made all the news about replacing Liz Cheney's leadership position just happens to be my current representative here in New York! And there were constant protests against her even before she even started supporting Trump! My blood is boiling, I don't even know how she was reelected!

Dammmm.

Isn't there also another reptiliQuan guy? Who'm I thinking of..🤔

I had to call the umpteenth time yesterday to straighten out my healthcare system account. I thot I'd blow a gasket. Dint cuss or use derogatory words, but the rep gathered I was steamed. Every so often she'd say "deep breath, deep breath". In closing I ended wishing her a safe path and good health, also asking forgiveness. She was cool. This particular billing service provider sux! I let my healthcare group know my sentiments.

Love you❣

On MSNBC today they keep saying that this is a "moderate Republican" district. It was not. The congressman that Stefanik replaced was long time Rep. Bill Owens who was a moderate Democrat and he retired. He chose a successor, Aaron Woolf, who I liked a lot and I made GOTV calls for him. And there have been protests against Stefanik since her first week so I have no idea why she not only won again but she has gotten progressively worse.

And I am so sorry that you're having such issues! I've has problems too, but I do have a financial advisor, friend of my Dad's, who understands these things and I can rely on him for help. I hope that you got through to the woman you spoke to, sounds like she understood your aggravation...

emails to him saying he had a new bill. I been getting nada. I supposedly straightened it out 2X ago, but the last stupid email really burned my butt. I need to simmer down. I hurt myself getting so bent outta shape.

I'll look up that guy from NY. I think middle or upstate.

And it sounds like the confusion started at the doctor's office. I'd trace it back to them.

And we got redistricted in 2013. We were always NY-20, Kirsten Gillibrand's district, actually. But in 2013 we got moved to NY-21 which is the northernmost part of the state. And the longtime congressman for NY-21 was Democrat Bill Owens who retired in 2015 and we've been stuck with this offensive Republican ever since.

But NY-27 is in the western part of the state, I'm in NY-21 which is in the Northeast.

I worked on two campaigns for Kirsten Gillibrand's successor, a terrific candidate who actually lives fairly close by! He won the first election, but lost the second - and then we got redistricted with the northernmost part of the state.

This is why in some countries, federally-funded projects feature billboards informing passersby that it was, in fact, federally-funded.

Because if you don't, these miscreants flood the zone with claims that it was "thanks to them" and other misinformation.

Such is politics.

My Trumpy neighbor just dropped off the letter that the IRS sent out as it was delivered to his house by mistake. It really made me wonder just how many trumpanzees, (sorry stealing a nickname from another poster) terurned their stimulus check because it came from the Dwmocrats and this was clearly just the beginning of our efforts to turn America socialist?????
I really need to know if money talks and bullshit walks or if they are true to their beliefs.
Hmmmmm
