(26,263 posts)Cindy McCain seems to be very balanced, and someone with a lot of class. Those are two things that can't be said about her daughter, on any level. And she's gotten exponentially more offensive, since her marriage.

(32,767 posts)Its no wonder shes getting crazier..have you seen the piece a work she married?? Nice that the 2 of them found each other...saved others from being destroyed by their crazy brand of negativity

(26,263 posts)They were basically told to reel it in and stop fighting. Meghan stormed out of the meeting, claiming she was being attacked.
Why she wasn't fired after THAT behavior baffling.

(11,308 posts)so, as a generalized comment -- it seems likely to me that flamboyant and controversial is encouraged (if not coached) by a lot of producers, in a lot of mediums. Everybody from Spotify to FB is measuring 'clicks' and 'traffic' these days. Is there any incentive being offered, to McCain or any other, to 'cool it' or tone it down?

(26,263 posts)VERY few supportive comments. Easily the vast majority want her gone. Their numbers improved when she was on maternity leave.
And it's not just that she's rude to the other hosts. She also takes out her ire on guests. I'm trying to remember if it was Senator Schumer or Senator Durbin that she called a liar. More than one guest has put her in her place, in a way much more civil than how she attacked them.
Meghan's biggest problem, IMHO, is that she's not NEARLY as smart as she thinks she is. Second to that is her need to constantly play the victim.

(11,308 posts)And then -- it's also quite possible that McCain is just a toxic human being. (lord knows we have our share)

(26,263 posts)She has a pathological need to personalize any remark, no matter how far she has to stretch credulity to do it. She rants, rages and monopolizes so much of the air time I hit the mute button the instant she opens her mouth. And I hope they bring Whoopie's face onto the screen because some of her barely restrained facial reactions are priceless.
For a while I just gave up on even watching unless Ana Navarro was on. The only thing worth watching, where Meghan is concerned, is to see on which end of the spectrum her hair and make up will be.

(25,531 posts)The problem is when the conflict is real.
I stopped watching The View at one point a long time ago because the conservative on the panel then would come in with bullshit she'd found on the Internet and get so upset and emotional, sometimes to the point of tears, that it made me uncomfortable. I think it's the same here except Meghan goes much further, outrageously unprofessional. The emotions are real and it's upsetting viewers. I don't think Meghan can control herself. It's as if she can't comprehend this is show business, TV.
Meghans husband super right wing? Maybe that is why.

(26,263 posts)And she's really turned so much more toxic, since her marriage. I have little doubt that he hands her a list of talking points. She gets made during meetings that more of her topics are discussed. It wouldn't surprise me to find out he's standing in the wings, during the show, pushing her even harder.
Check out his Wiki page. He's a complete miscreant.

The next day her husband took to social media attacking Seth's manhood, integrity, intelligence, etc.
and here is the entire interview:

(26,263 posts)She got a BA in Art History so she's a little better suited for a job in a museum basement than she is for what she's doing, now. Political acumen isn't an inherited genetic trait.

(47,450 posts)after they've gotten married, both men and women. I remember Meghan from back in 2008 and she was quite moderate and reasonable. Now she sounds like a whiny, out of control child who is always on the defensive and in need of medication. Maybe her marriage is some kind of gaslight situation. Whatever it is, I cannot imagine why anyone would want to watch her on television. I've known people like her in real life and I went out of my way to keep my distance.
I've only watched The View a handful of times when there was a guest I wanted to see. It isn't the kind of show I care for and people like McCain turn it into a Jerry Springer like atmosphere. It feels like the show is selling the outrageous conflicts and behavior for the ratings. She isn't the first resident whiner-complainer, but I think she is probably the worst.

(10,952 posts)her points without being abrasive like Meghan. Ana's speaking style if so entertaining. And she doesn't take shit from anybody and she does it all with a smile.
Meghan comes across like a spoiled rich kid who thinks that only her opinion matters. Her whiny tone and abrasiveness is more apt to turn people off then draw them to her side.

(34,195 posts)But McCain goes on and on and on and on and on and on,
getting louder and louder and louder and louder and louder.
And her speech gets faster and faster,
'cause she know she's going overtime and about to get cut off by Whoopie.

(26,263 posts)Early on, she seemed to have had a whole different personality. I remember seeing her during different appearances and she wasn't at all shrill and abrasive. She just seems to be the self-appointed patron saint/martyr of conservatives - specifically conservative females.
After reading her husband's professional history, and its almost total lack of ethics, I'm a little, but just a little, surprised her father seemed happy with the union.
