Trump deluded a 'certain' section of the population with promises that he would morph America into something that suited them better, you know, make the American Dream come true for them, evict minorities out of America, make White Supremacy official, etc.

They gave him 4 years to do that, and he failed.

They got bored, Trump failed them, didn't deliver, now looking for a new source of hope for their dreams.

So they have moved on to follow others who make the same deluded promises.
A gap some in politics are happy to try to fill.
Not naming names, but you know who they are.
