MSNBC's Brian Williams shares the tale of Jason Riddle who stands accused of participating in the Trump-incited Capitol insurrection. Riddle recently spoke to Katherine Underwood with Boston's NBC10 about his political ambitions -- but didn't know the candidate he wanted to defeat was a member of the U.S. House rather than the Massachusetts state house. Aired on 06/15/2021.

(205,527 posts)I always thought of him as a serious anchor, just delivering straight news. But since he's been on MSNBC late night, he often speaks out - usually remarks directed against the former guy - and he can also be funny!

(7,715 posts)I rarely watch TV and most of the current news is either on CNN or stuff posted on DU.
Brian Williams is just fabulous, and he always has been. In recent years, his sense of humor has come out in a big way, and I truly appreciate that MSNBC gives him this freedom.

(205,527 posts)And when they have live election or breaking new results, he's usually the anchor along with Maddow, Nicolle Wallace and Joy Reid. I think their outspokenness is rubbing off on him - and it's great to see!
And thanks! I try to keep track of what's going on, especially in these scary times. And I know that others on DU might not have the time - or even TV - so I try to share the important (or entertaining) stuff!

(235 posts)I know what I want done with them all would be cruel and unusual punishment and thus not allowed but misdemeanor charges - FUCK THAT! That stupid FUCK broke into "OUR" house and stole property and was proud about doing it during the occurrence and seemingly still is. The only thing these assholes are going to understand is real punishment - not little slaps on the hand.
Fuck, Fuckity Fuck - Sorry but it just enrages me!

(3,395 posts)There has to be a law that people like Matt Gaetz who seems to have been in prison because of a DUI cannot run for office, anyone indicted for criminal acts should not be allowed to run for office. I am all for 2nd chances, but we have seen over and over that these people do not change (a crook is a crook is a crook), they are opportunists and nothing else. One example is the skinny woman from Colorado (I forget her name) who walks around with guns, she has a history with the law, she should not even be allowed to carry guns, her husband is another jewel, why are we letting people like that to run for office.
I bet that any republican who owns a business would never hire Greene, or trump or many of these republican law makers to run their businesses, but they still vote them into office. That is really screwed up!
