I had never heard of the New Black Panthers, but my mom was whipped into a frenzy about them, after all the hate/scare TV and radio she's immersed in during every waking moment. And she was terrified to fly when a handful of people in the country had Ebola, but at 90, was perfectly fine with the idea of flying across country (with a change of planes!) for pandemic Thanksgiving to visit my COVID-ignoring MAGAt sister. (Thankfully, she got a serious nosebleed on the morning she was supposed to leave, and then delayed that trip until after she was vaccinated.)
