Related: About this forumRep. Schiff on MSNBC: We Need Stronger Safeguards Against Executive Abuses of Power
On Monday, June 21, 2021, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) joined MSNBCs The Beat with Ari Melber to discuss reports that the Department of Justice subpoenaed account information for persons associated with the House Intelligence Committee. Schiff argued the need for stronger safeguards against executive abuses of power and urged Congress to pass his Protecting Our Democracy Act, which would strengthen the independence of the DOJ, reign in abuses of power, and enact sweeping reforms to keep American democracy intact.
