Rachel Maddow makes the case that despite the hoopla about the bipartisan compromise infrastructure bill reaching an agreed upon framework, it's a bigger deal that all of the key Democratic players agree on the two-bill plan for moving forward on infrastructure. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, chair of the House Progressive Caucus points out that the dual bill format was a progressive idea. Aired on 06/24/2021.

(205,927 posts)I usually watch and try to post whatever is the most important news of the night - which usually turns out to be Rachel, she is not just knowledgeable, she presents complicated issues so clearly that anyone can understand, LOL. And she does attract important guests, too.
on edit: I posted 2 from Rachel tonight:

(205,927 posts)I was interested in the history (especially now that I'm familiar with the history described Mary Trump's book) and, as usual, Rachel presents it so well.

(205,927 posts)That anyone can understand. And even those she disagrees with are willing to go on her program because she makes a point of being fair and accurate. I still remember the first time she hosted, substituted on Keith Olbermann's MSNBC show, and I watched it with others here in DU (the old KOEB group) and we were all rooting for her. She was awfully nervous at the start, but by the end of the show she'd found her voice and did fine - and she subsequently became a usual Olbermann substitute host until she got her own show that followed his. And the rest is history!

(57,073 posts)I didn't find her until.she had her own show, but I think she was new at the time.
Glad you were able to watch with DU friends.

(205,927 posts)It hasn't been very active since his show is no longer on, but I have seen his videos cross posted, probably a good idea since they can be lost in V&M - or duplicated.

(129,408 posts)because apparently Keith is still doing one-off video rants! I just saw this one on his channel -
I remember when Rachel was still on SiriusXM with a radio show and then did subbing for Keith back in the day, so it is good that she has managed to hang on longer than most on MSNBC.

(205,927 posts)And KOEB was very active back in the day, I wasn't there all the time like some, but I liked to check in. And I do remember Rachel's debut on his show (as host - do you remember that she previously appeared with Tucker Carlson when he had an MSNBC show?! ). It would be good to get that Group going again - and it's a spot on DU where his videos wouldn't get buried like they could in V&M.
