Trump lost the election. By a lot. Al Gore has a message for him (CNN)

CNN's Pamela Brown talks to former Vice President Al Gore about Rep. Liz Cheney's remarks about the Democratic ticket's election loss in 2000 and former President Trump's refusal to accept the results of the 2020 race.

really did win the 2000 election. Where does it say in the Constitution that the Supreme Court picks our president?

I honestly believe that if Florida ran fair elections it would be a blue state. No I'm not being the same as GQPers.

Perhaps republicans will BLAME him for inventing the internet now that he’s pointed out it’s bad side.

3. I think things would have been different today if Gore had fought back. A lot harder than he did.

In my mind, the Bush v Gore election was the turning point that has brought was a stacked SCOTUS, McTurtle, and of course the Liar in Chief.

I will always believe that the introduction of computer-based voting in most of the country has allowed the voting equipment to be hacked by even foreign powers a mere 20 years later.

9/11 wouldn’t have happened, nor the Iraq War. Without eight years of Bush and his tax cuts for the rich, income inequality wouldn’t be such a problem. Gore would have focused on climate change, and there’s no telling where we would be.

We lost a LOT of things because Gore wasn't President:

The Bush tax cuts wouldn't have happened. In 1999, all of the projections had the US running budget surpluses for years to come. There was even hope that the entire national debt could be paid off (I think it was like 6 trillion at that time, which now seems quaint).

I don't think 9/11 would have happened. The Clinton administration had given the new administration a lot of info on Bin Laden that Bush ignored.

Think of the Supreme Court. There would have been no Roberts and no Alito. Whew!

Maybe in some alternate universe.....

9. Gore is a good man. He, & the country, were hurt by what happened, but it was not his fault...

I still have a ton of appalled feelings about all of it, especially the long-term consequences of the SCOTUS decision to not kick the case out (“Not our jurisdiction; go finish counting” )

But I never blamed Al Gore for declining to do what Trump has done.

Watching him preside over the vote certification was heart-breaking.

Our lives could have been so different......President Al Gore, President Hillary Clinton.

If not for Katherine Harris stopping the vote count in Florida, we would have had the president we deserved - and our history would be much different.
