6. Moving and oddly gentle perspective

Kind of dream the dream as we are all Americans and from that rather fantastical place, it was very moving.

Unfortunately promulgating lies cannot be excused. We cannot just make nice when the right wing viewpoints are based on complete falsehoods and half truths. It would be more effective if it were simply two opposing viewpoints that could be rationally discussed in their individual merits.

8. Its good and bad

Its good for curbing the hatred, especially from the irrational bagger mentality where it would be unheard of to even TALK to an Obama supporter. For reminding people that we still all have to live together at the end of the day (or election).

Its bad for what Cooley Hurd pointed out; all the false-equivalencies. I hate the perimeters that in order for a liberal to criticize a wingnut for behaviours that while not shared with all righties, is prevalent in a lot of them like racism and ignorance, that the wingnut should be able to spout out their outrageous myths like we are communists, or the silly notion that we'd rather sip a pink martini than have a bottle of beer.

But on the whole I think its a good thing as there just are no pieces like this ever done.
