Well, unless you've been barred from federal office via impeachment and conviction. So Donnie could do that, at least in theory.

For most people this would ruin any campaign, but today's republicans and the media would insist he's a political prisoner and they'd eat up that angle even if he were in prison for cheating on his taxes.

...that precludes a president from holding office if he/she is convicted of felonies or is incarcerated. So I'd say the answer to that is yes.

while in prison. Apparently, qualifications to appear on the ballot vary from state to state.

"Keith Judd, who is serving a 17 1/2-year prison sentence for extortion at the Federal Correctional Institution in Texarkana, Texas, took 41 percent of the vote in West Virginia’s Democratic primary Tuesday night — 72,000 votes to Obama’s 106,000. He would qualify for convention delegates, if anyone had signed up to be a Judd delegate. (No one did.)
...
As for how Judd got on the ballot: West Virginia has very liberal ballot laws and Judd is an opportunist. He ran in the Idaho Democratic primary in 2008."...(more)

Not one of a dozen prior ones have moved the needle of public opinion. Why should we expect this one to?

But they have moved the needle on those who supported him but read, I know a few.

The needles I want moved are from lawyers with guts who can put together a case, or several cases to charge the guy and his minions with manslaughter for all the people they killed due to willingly lie and do nothing to prevent the national pandemic to grow as much as it did. They can bundle a bunch of them, including DeSantis, Abbot, the woman from South Dakota, and you know the rest.
