... some hash the old fashioned way. Back in the day, we used to get Afghan hash with the gold seals on it. In the late 60's, early 70's. Then the Russians started stirring the pot politically. I always wanted to go to the Blue Moon cafe in Kabul.

I've made hash using the propane method. But having to pay attention to ventilation, humidity, temp and flash sources makes it too risky.

It certainly explains why there was never an independent Afghan army, ready to take over, no matter how much money the U.S. sunk into the effort, how much training we attempted or how long we stayed - and why they just melted away now. I heard on one of the news shows this eek, that Joe Biden was in favor of withdrawal when he was VP. Looks like he was right...
