than is shown in a province-by-province basis. Even the areas around Kabul were quite infiltrated by taliban (or patriots as they might be called.)

The government/US/coalition control was in name only.

And future overlords (USSR, USA, China) will find themselves just holding onto safe havens and declaring "victory".
