that doesn't mean the content of the conversations, just records of who called who and when. Although just that can be incriminating in the right context and also guide the questioning during testimony.

If nothing else it can guide an investigation and help formulate questions. That's why police still use lie detectors even though they are not admissible as evidence in court.
