So I filled her in. *sigh* Anytime you think they can't possibly get more insane, they manage to outdo themselves. BTW, my dentist was the first person I knew to be vaccinated, with her job, she qualified right away. And she's "one of us," I often show her things from DU.
Why would a nurse, of all people, refuse to get the vaccine?? If they work in a hospital, there are going to be Covid patients there! I have 2 friends who work in the local hospital, one in the ER with psych patients and the other in the office, and they were the first friends I knew who got the vaccine - last January. They had to drive an hour downstate to a major hospital to get the Pfizer, but they were also given a $100 bonus for their trouble.
When I was finally able to get vaccinated, I was so relieved! And there's an older man (mid 80s) who I see at local meetings who said he wasn't getting the vaccine because his daughter - who is a nurse - isn't getting it and he gets his medical advice from her! He said she'd sooner quit her job. Well, my friend told me that anyone who works at that hospital is required to get at least their first shot by the end of September or they're done. I really don't get it - there are Covid patients there! 
A Nurse I really like and respected. I am not sure whether she was outraged or the person who told me twisted her words. I have had them twist mine.
Point is many who are angry about something else turn it on the next thing. I know I am pretty old to realize how easy it is to change some people’s thinking but after seeing our media in action with the fiasco they created on the war ending. Something that no other President did in 20 years.
I even gave Trump credit for signing, although I know he thought it would get him Re-elected. He never gave a thought to the details. Biden did the hard work. I have been waiting on this for 20 years.
Though I guess I should blame his daughter. I won't argue with anyone about it - unless they are family, LOL. My brother had no plans to get it since he doesn't think he goes anywhere - he's agoraphobic, does not like to leave the house. But he does go to the store if he really needs to and places like the doctor, the pharmacy and he took his truck in for inspection. So when they started taking walk-ins at the large state-run clinic in the old Sears store at the local mall, I offered to go with him - and he went! I think he was just sick of my nagging. 
As for Biden, I agree that he deserves enormous credit for ending a pointless war - and, like Lawrence O'Donnell said - the evacuation went much better than any other one in history, despite what the rest of the media has said. I remember reading that he was in favor of ending it back when he was VP - and, having lost his son who served, you can tell that this is personal for him. I think history will give him a lot of credit, too.
