I was never popular when I made that point and somehow diminished 9/11 because thousands died in one singular dramatic event. I guess as long as you kill them by ones and two's, even if it adds up to 10s of thousands annually, that's okay. I think Stalin said the death of one is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic. Human nature can be wonderful so often and yet also cruel and illogical in so many ways.
