Were we still talking about Pearl Harbor in 1961 like we do 9/11 in 2021? nt Gore1FL Sep 2021 #1

My wife called and said someone had crashed a small plane into one of the Trade Center towers. Oh, I said. Maybe that's why the internet crashed while I was drinking coffee, scanning the headlines and easing into the work day. Little did we know. The most eerie thing afterward in my neck of the woods was the days and days without air traffic of any kind. No contrails. No distant jet sound. Things you pay little attention to until they're gone. Two colleagues of mine got stuck in Salt Lake, got lucky finding a rental car and drove the bazzillion miles back to the east coast. Strange, sad times. And now Covid. To be honest, I'm getting very tired of living in "interesting" times, as the old Chinese curse goes.
