British expat tells his "where I was on 9/11" story

Lawrence M. Brown, a British expat who has lived in the US Midwest (Illinois, Indiana) for the last 10 years or so, hosts a YouTube channel called "Lost In The Pond", a mostly humorous, often clever, and sometimes thought-provoking "quest to uncover all of the memos that Britain and America lost in the pond."

Today was his "where I was" story of 20 years ago, as a college student in Grimsby, a port town in Lincolnshire, UK.

All those who died were not just Americans. It bothers me with the reports that are remiss in forgetting there were so many souls from other countries. This event rattled the world, too.

to learn news of major world events. The BBC, radio or TV works; I've lived in England as a student. At the time of the attack, I was following the news on CNN with Aaron Brown. It was a clear Sept. day and I was a mile from the CIA, several miles from National Airport. Major media organizations use tickers to follow breaking news.
