According to the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, Americans are now getting infected with Covid-19 at 10 times the rate needed to end the pandemic. Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief Medical Advisory to President Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, joins News NOW to discuss how the president’s plan to tackle Covid-19 could end the pandemic and whether cases are expected to spike during flu season.

1. It seems like forcing people to get vaxxed

by fining them or taking away their jobs is what works the best these days. If you look at the various spikes in US Covid cases they occur every 3-4 months. If Biden's plan works we may not get another one, or perhaps not as severe as past spikes.

2. You're right, these are tough times and this is a national emergency

If only the pandemic hadn't been ignored and/or crazy cures promoted for over a year until last January. A friend of mine suggested promotional commercials like we see constantly for all manner of prescription meds, and that might have worked in the beginning, but I think too many people are dead set against it at this point. In the beginning, if the vaccine was treated like any other vaccine that we've gotten all our lives it might have made a difference. *sigh*

3. I 100% blame tRump for every

screw up since this began on his watch. The daily pressers were his dreams come true...having full attention from the US every day as he lied and gave us false info, leading to thousands of preventable deaths.

4. You're 100% right, he knew the truth, but he took no appropriate action

And thousands are dead now as a result. In her new book, Mary Trump said that even though he knew how dangerous this virus was in January 2020 according to Bob Woodward's tapes, he didn't speak out or prepare the nation even though he had the opportunity and the means.

He could have accessed the pandemic playbook put in place by the Obama administration during Ebola, he could have enacted the Defense Production Act to produce needed PPE and he could have reached out to other nations since this has affected everyone around the globe. He could have set aside his campaign aspirations in an effort to save lives, but since it wasn't affecting him personally, he ignored it.

Even during those useless informational press conferences, he blathered on about useless "cures" rather than allowing the experts to inform the nation. And he is responsible for not only the deaths, but for the lack of progress - the anti vaxxers and those who believed it was "a hoax" or that it would "just disappear" - we've made in combating the virus in this country.

5. If he could have made a lot of $$$$$

off of it he would have been doing much more than he did. Since he couldn't, he only focused on his personal desires of reelection. Covid was not good FOR HIM for this reason. Thousands died and he doesn't care since he is a cruel, sadistic dictator wanna be. He got impeached over Ukraine which was all about to his desires to be reelected and get rid of Biden. He created the Big Lie to once again stay in office.

He must be punished and a precedent must be set.
