Hey, Mehdi, it's because prosecuting a former president isn't a slam dunk (actually, no prosecution of anybody is ever a slam dunk) and charging TFG in a way that will make the charges stick will be a heavy lift and a very slow, meticulous process. It's basically like the old saying that if you are going to attack the king you have to be damn sure you kill him. But Mehdi likes pissing on Democrats, so.

That means that, unlike under Trump, the department succeeds or fails on it's own merits. No hiding behind administration coattails. That should be the case for Garland as well. He isn't automatically a genius at his job thanks to being appointed by President Biden. Mehdi's criticism is one shared among a growing number of administration observers. It's not a criticism of Biden, so "pissing on Democrats" is not only unsupported, but irrelevant.

There are plenty of concerned voices in the mix concerning Garland's performance. He may have a game plan in mind. There are articles to be found defending his tenure to date as head of the DOJ. However, one need only look at American history to doubt that DJT will face any real consequences for his blatantly illegal activity in the White House. Why wouldn't people be worried about another round of "look forward, not back" by another name, or slow walking the process until Congress is lost and issues with the DOJ fade into the background? 2022 is approaching, and people are not optimistic in the face of a political party determined to lie, cheat, steal, and even kill, to seize control.

Anyone who says different is fooling themselves. In fact all republicans in the government are above the law. It’s very clearly demonstrated on the daily. A rapist is on the Supreme Court without investigation.

Justice matters.

For doing it again, and it will be a lot worse.
