By appearing to take the "high road" at a time when the GQP is a radical terrorist organization whose sole purpose is to prevent the Democrats -- lead by Biden --from accomplishing any part of their agenda, these Dems -- as well as Manchin and Sinema -- are able to accomplish Repug goals without appearing to do so. Moscow Mitch was an asshole when he ran the Senate, but at least he was open about it. He stated that his purpose was to keep Obama from passing any legislation, that no matter how long it took he would hold Scalia's empty seat open until a Repug was president, and that his purpose was to get as many radical Republicans appointed to the courts as he could while TFG ruled.
If I didn't know for certain that if these guys switched over the new Republican majority would spend their entire time working to destroy Biden's accomplishments -- and immediately start a revenge impeachment at TFG's direction -- I'd say, "Let 'em go." But too much is at stake. Even if they won't work to achieve the goals of the Democratic Party to make life better for everyone, and not just the obscenely rich and corporations, at least they can be neutralized to cause as little damage as possible.
It's sad to be in this position. It reminds me of Lucy, Charlie Brown, and the football. The Dems worked hard to get a majority by playing by the rules, and just when it looks like their goals are within reach these "Democrats" yank the football away. And the rest of us are supposed to feel good about it because, ya' know, "bipartisanship."
