They need to provide more help for nurses & doctors!

(205,224 posts)It's a sad state of affairs in too many places and since this isn't going away, medical workers are overwhelmed and exhausted.

(57,073 posts)Early on last year, people were sending pizzas & subway etc. In support of healthcare workers. From what I'm hearing, that has dried up & they need to know they are appreciated for how hard they are working. 💔
Something needs to change.

(205,224 posts)Not to mention, colder weather will drive these "gatherings" indoors and that's where many transmissions happen. Last January was the worst and we're headed there...

(57,073 posts)The Army Corps of Engineers built out a 400 bed covid overflow hospital in Memphis last year.
I was stunned to read that the plan was to keep it open for either 2 or 4 yrs, sorry I can't recall.
BUTp, just as Delta took off, someone closed it! Who? Why? Dunno...

(205,224 posts)And we have more sites offering the vaccine than I can name, pharmacies, pharmacies in grocery stores, Walmart - and there are quite a few of each store.
