(15,666 posts)We really have no idea how the senator or any senator will vote until the bill is presented to the senate. From what Ive seen, no vote has been cast.

(5,639 posts)She will vote against it. She doesn't like the price tag. She is going to renege on her promise to us in Arizona to fight for lower drug prices.
She may not have voted YET, but she has made her intentions widely known. Which is why, here in Arizona, there is loud talk about a primary challenge in 2024.

(5,639 posts)After everything the AZ GOP has done to damage Arizona (idiotic recount, CRT gag rule, voter restrictions only those in heavy Republican areas wanted), we can retain Sinema's seat.
We can also gain at least the AZ House, as there are extremely vulnerable Republicans in Democratic or swing districts that are wildly unpopular, as is the case in my LD. The GOP won by 2400 votes in a D+13 district because the losing Democrat ran a miserable campaign where she barely left the Maricopa County section of the district. She didn't even come to Pima County (my stronghold), which is 8-1 Democratic, and barely went to the Yuma County area, which is 3-1 Democratic.
But Maricopa County came out in droves against her, while she under-performed in solidly Democratic areas.

(15,325 posts)She moved fro. Stein's Green/Libertarian Party, to Left Wing activist, on to the Dem Party to get where she is today, & she'll be a Independent after that useful gig.
So it's hard to say what her vote will be in the end, but she'll have maneuvered herself successfully up the ladder using whatever gave her the position she ultimately seeks.
She's certainly not the 1st nor last to do so, right?
Its all in the political game, afterall.
Running as a D is a lucrative path to take for name recognition, media, & financial benefits, apparently.
So she skillfully made it her advantage.
We'll see how she fairs as an Independant.

(5,639 posts)and used that against her when she ran (as well as being "liberal" and she turned against those who voted for her to the point that the bridge is burned.
What I see her doing is the classic "If I'm going down, I'm taking everyone with me" philosophy.

(15,325 posts)Whatever she sees as that final personal accomplishment may not be in legislating so much as influencing.
What we can assume today, is that she's unlikely to run as a Dem in 2024.

(5,639 posts)I'm in Pima County, Arizona's Democratic stronghold and very active as a candidate for AZ House.
Everyone who has spoken to me since I declared in March has asked me if I would support a primary challenge against Sinema. Because I am honest, I always say "yes, unless she comes back to our side."

(15,325 posts)Notice how quickly she switched Party loyalty as soon as the D was no longer useful.
Now she'll becone an Indy where she adheres to no one in particular.
Which is where she probably belonged all along.
But Thanks for the lift Democrats!
Later.

(5,406 posts)I've tried relentlessly to contact her about her position on the filibuster.
After campaigning my ass off for her against the odious McSally, I am now firmly against her.
I will work twice as hard for her primary opponent in 2024.

I'm still pretty appalled by the defund vote on the Iron Dome Defense System.
Thankfully it remains funded thru the Pentagon.
Sen Mark Kelly is spot on here, & he speaks from his vast knowledge of the vital necessity of Air Defense.
I'll trust his expertise on global affairs, especially in the volitile situations around the world.
Why would we not supoort another Democracy's ability to defend itself.
Ukraine is in talks now & requesting an Iron Dome System for their country, as the threat from Russia grows louder.

(22,214 posts)I am greatly disappointed in her. My daughter lives in AZ and Synema was her Congressional Rep before she ran for Senate and I was very pleased when she moved on to the Senate. I never imagined any of the Senate Democrats would become obstructionists.
I hope you do have a deep bench, we certainly do not here. If GOTV efforts in the flippable Lege districts and Congressional Districts are positive for Dems, it could help retain the seat.
Good luck AZ Dems!
We are busy over here hopeing to boot Abbott, Patrick and Paxton next year. We have extraordinary candidates for Lt Gov and AG.
