'Raking It In': How Anti-Vax Influencers Are Profiting From Covid Disinformation - MSNBC

Facebook groups have become a hotspot for Covid conspiracies—and a busy marketplace for ivermectin, essential oils and other anti-vax remedies. MSNBC Medical Contributor Dr. Ebony Jade Hilton and Mother Jones Senior Editor Kiera Butler explain why the U.S. is dangerously close to “losing in this battle” to get people vaccinated. If a legitimate vitamin or other supplement company made such outlandishly false claims, there would be hell to pay!

And an ample supply of idiots follow in a dogged pursuit to make this a 3rd world country.

Haven’t seriously considered it, but I think if you had no moral compunctions it wouldn’t be hard. Get on a few RW sites, collect lists of Republican voters, focus on a few of the main reality defying ideas and start spreading the BS. Stay within main boundaries of their delusions but pitch some new outlandish ideas and when you find some that get traction start monetizing it. It might take awhile but I think it would not be difficult. I think most of those making money probably believe a lot of what they are saying but I’m sure there are plenty of people making money spreading lies that are well aware of what they are doing.
