(112,120 posts)I went to bestduckingstamps.com and I saw that the bids add up to more than $50,000. The Duck Judges painting has the highest bid of $17,100 with Duck Hunting Hunter was closed behind with a high bid of $15,100.
It looks like I'll have to find some other wall art since I can't afford the auction.

(205,202 posts)I initially thought he was recommending buying postage stamps to support the Post Office like he did before. I bought stamps back then and I still have a lot of them since I don't send much mail. I got some pretty landscape stamps, the Moon landing and Earth Day. But these actual Duck Stamps support the environment even if they're not intended for letters. I don't know what I'd do with a duck painting even if I could afford one.

I don't believe that I can recall my brother ever hunting ducks before since we lived in a drier part of South Texas. He used to hunt quail a lot, but he hasn't gone hunting in about ten years. I don't think that he will ever hunt animals like deer again since he wouldn't want to drag the carcass back to his vehicle because of his bad back.

I think I will buy duck stamps from now on.
