(205,664 posts)4. Colbert is the best on important and breaking news
He keeps up on everything and gets some terrific guests - and asks all the right questions. There was one time when there was breaking news when he was in the middle of taping his monologue (think it was that TFG was going to meet with Kim Jong-un for the first time) so he put aside his prepared script and ad libbed the rest. We really can depend on Colbert (a comedian!) for important news!
And his show was a godsend when we couldn't stand to constantly see TFG constantly on the news. Colbert now tries to avoid using his name, he asked viewers to send in "nicknames: for him, so that's what he uses now - and he's picked some funny ones!
