'About A Year Too Late,' White House Seeks To Expand At-Home Covid Testing - MSNBC

The Biden administration on Monday announced several steps aimed at making rapid, at-home Covid testing more widely available while lowering costs. Dr. Peter Hotez says that's a great thing — but that it is coming "a year too late." Aired on 10/25/2021.

Too bad the administration didn't get on this a year ago, as he said - oh, wait, a year ago we had an administration which was recommending drinking bleach.

That'd be a special government handout just for them.

My Dr won't do them.
The local pharmacies won't do them if you have any symptoms.
There is a drive thru that only excepts $150 in cash, results in 3 days.
4-6 business days to make an apotiment for one at the Tulsa Co Health Department.
Calling around we found a handful of OTC home tests available for $75-100 results in 3 days.
So I spent 5 hours waiting in my car at the local minor emergency clinic and paid $300 to find out in 20 minutes I was negative.

This is BS. We MUST do better!!

At least the Biden administration is getting on it, there is so much to clean up after no action on the pandemic which was allowed to run rampant for over a year, it has taken time to catch up. *sigh*

the day you travel. Some people who got tested at a pharmacy and were crossing the border missed their flight, I think, because the pharmacy test was too many days in advance of the flight. When you do an at home rapid antigen test the results are ready in fifteen minutes. I sneezed my ass off taking the sample but was pleased I did not have to go all the way up my nose with a swab to get my sample. There was an alternate set of instructions which were way easier but took longer inn botth nostrils. I got my rapid antigen tests x5 for $125.00 including FedeX shipping in 4 days.

My wife had a Covid scare over the weekend. No rapid testing available due to the hour, lines backed up for hours for regular tests at the ER. Went to Walgreens and got a home test, $25 for 2, results in 15 minutes (negative).
