I don't want to get my blood pressure up thinking about Tucker though.

I had some mixed news this evening. My best friend from college called me and he finally found a new job after being unemployed most of this year. He wasn't in any financial hardship since two of his kids that are engineers are still living at home, but he still has to wait 60 days to get health insurance. The new job may give my friend the opportunity to pass through the area also so he might drop in once in awhile.

The bad news my friend told me is that two of the guys were in our fantasy football league are suicides by COVID. They both refused to get the vaccine. One was a barber while the other was a gym rat. Considering the risk involved with both occupations, it seems like they would have made wiser decisions.

3. Oh, Good Grief! Good News/Terrible News seems to be the status quo these days

Great that you get to see your friend, but I honestly do not understand what is wrong with people who refuse to take precautions in the face of a deadly global pandemic, like simply getting vaccinated like we have gotten our entire lives! That's why we are no longer dying of smallpox and polio! What is it about this don't people get??!

4. There is an acquaintance from college that I'm curious about.

The guy married another lady I took a few classes with while I was in college. He went on to become an OB/GYN while she became a pediatrician. It turns out that he had his DEA license revoked because of over-prescribing steroids, but he was also a gym rat who participated in body-building competitions posing in speedos. I'm not sure if he was selling steroids to other people in that crowd or if he kept them for himself. The last time I saw his Facebook page it was filled with Islamophobic rants and his informing us about his new wife and new job as gym manager. I wonder if he was a vax-denier considering his medical training?

I'm assuming that his wife came to her senses and divorced him before the DEA action. I didn't know her very well because she was a bit shy and and some of my other female friends liked her.

5. It does sound like this guy unfortunately went off the deep end

But these days it does sound like it's become a national epidemic. Is there something in the water?? I feel bad for his family - and friends.
