One thing Trump is expert at is using the legal system to keep lawsuits spinning forever and never having to suffer a judgment.
The system is designed in a certain way and Trump has had his whole life to learn every single loophole and there are so many that only if he decides to end a lawsuit will it end.

Even if SCOTUS rules against him he will submit a whole new rationale for blocking release and the whole thing will start again.
