LIVE - Extreme Tornado / Derecho Coverage - Storm Chasers In The Field

Last edited Wed Dec 15, 2021, 07:33 PM - Edit history (1)

Updated/edited at 6:30 pm to include his live storm coverage:

Original prediction video from this afternoon:

Mostly in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota and possibly parts of Kansas during the evening hours tonight. The beginnings of this system is moving into Colorado now and I just noticed a tornado watch flash up on NWS radar then disappear near Denver.

From NWS:
High Impact Weather for the Central U.S. Today

A rapidly strengthening storm system will shift from the four-corners region to the upper Great Lakes through today with widespread high winds, exceeding 70 mph in some locations, and severe weather including a few tornadoes for parts of the Mississippi River Valley. Critical to extremely critical fire weather conditions are expected from northeast New Mexico into southern Nebraska.

If you live in this zone, please check your local forecast on NWS by entering your city and state or ZIP code at this link and be prepared:

This YouTube site is my favorite internet severe weather expert and he was spot-on during the December 10 storms. He says we may witness some rare "snownadoes" tonight in northern areas already blanketed with snow.

It’s 60 degrees here in Madison, WI…….very unseasonable. Have my deck door open getting some fresh air.

Stay safe everyone!

Looking at national radar, this thing should be paying you a visit in about 1-1/2 hours, around 7:30 Eastern. You'll see about a 30-degree drop in temperature and pretty fast (from 65-deg. now and down to 33-deg. later tonight) with lots of gusty winds.

Best of luck and stay warm and safe!

My phone just alerted me we’re under a “tornado watch” until 10:00pm and high wind alert until 6:00am tomorrow. It’s on its way! I get migraines that are highly affected by barometric pressure changes so my head is raging right now…..🤯

I’m battened down and have candles prepared and set out. Must be the old Girl Scout in me…be prepared!
