As hard as it may be to believe, there's now good evidence that suggests that the Capitol Riot might have caused enough commotion on January 6th to thwart Trump and his allies' plans to carry out an actual coup that day. A former Trump advisor, Peter Navarro, says that he and Steve Bannon had 100 members of Congress ready to throw the certification of the electoral college votes, but because the media ended up focusing on the Riot, their plans didn't come to fruition. The moment I read that letter, I think it was Navarro who wrote the first that I read a couple days ago, I asked out loud what it was there to "verify" and how it would be used to make trumpty Dumpty look innocent. It is a giant stinky crock of Bullshit, IMHO.

If Bannon and Navarro separate themselves from the riot by offering this "alternative coup", they create doubt they were involved in anything more than roping in a cadre of loony Congress-critters to scream and shout for a while (which is not illegal). They're laying the foundational story for their upcoming trials.

7. After what we've seen over the last six years, I would put absolutely nothing past them

I know that we have the January 6th Committee, but someone here said earlier that we need a special prosecutor. And I can't help but agree, we need to get to the bottom of all the treachery before the next election - and we're learning more each and every day (though we don't even know all that much - yet).
